The City of Pineville is inviting local artists, students, and creative residents to submit original designs for its 2027 Mardi Gras Poster Contest, offering a $250 prize and the opportunity to have their artwork featured as the city’s official Mardi Gras poster.
The contest encourages participants to create artwork celebrating Pineville’s identity while incorporating traditional Mardi Gras themes and colors.
According to city officials, submissions should draw inspiration from Pineville’s new city logo and include the traditional Mardi Gras colors of purple, green, and gold.
Artists are also encouraged to incorporate recognizable Pineville landmarks, downtown scenery, or other elements that reflect the city’s character and community.
The winning design will be selected as the official 2027 Pineville Mardi Gras Poster, with the artist receiving a $250 award.
City officials said they have already received several creative submissions but are continuing to encourage participation ahead of the deadline.
The competition is open to individuals with varying levels of artistic experience, including professional artists, students, and residents who enjoy creative projects.
Those interested in participating must submit their designs by Nov. 1, 2026.
Entries may be emailed to mayor@pineville.net or delivered in person to Pineville City Hall.
The city has also shared its new logo and last year’s Mardi Gras poster as references to help inspire participants.
The poster contest provides an opportunity for local artists to showcase their work while contributing to Pineville’s Mardi Gras celebrations.
Residents interested in participating are encouraged to complete and submit their designs before the November deadline.
