Marksville Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on Louisiana Highway 1
Louisiana State Police, Troop E
A 38-year-old Marksville man was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 1 south of German Bayou Road in Avoyelles Parish. Louisiana State Police Troop E responded at approximately 6:23 a.m. and determined that a southbound 2003 Ford F-150 left the roadway for reasons still under investigation, traveled down a ditch embankment, and struck several trees. The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology samples were collected. Louisiana State Police reminded motorists that distracted and inattentive driving is a leading cause of crashes in Louisiana, noting that “a lapse in one’s awareness can have deadly consequences.”
