He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Clayton; son, Dale Clayton; parents, Willie Clayton and Elmerine Taylor Clayton; siblings, Willie “Billie” Clayton and Betty Jean Clayton.

Those left cherish his memory include his 5 daughters, Donna Hehnke (Ron), Debbie Schellenger (Terry), Dana Deen (Ricky), Darla Roberts (Keith), and Doretta Smith (Shea); 10 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Mr. Richard was a proud Navy veteran who believed in hard work, taking care of what was his, and loving his family well. He spent 30 years working at Dresser Industries, building a life he could be proud of. In his free time, he enjoyed being at the deer hunting club, listening to his favorite Elvis songs, watching John Wayne, and making sure his yard was perfect.

But of all the things he accomplished in his life, nothing meant more to Richard than his six children. Raising them was his greatest accomplishment and one of his greatest joys. His love, guidance, hard work, and devotion to his family will be remembered and cherished by his daughters and all those who were blessed to know him. Richard leaves behind not only memories, but a lasting legacy of a life well lived and a family deeply loved.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Marshall Deen, Kade Smith, Austin Roberts, Cameron Weidner, Patrick Murphy, and Nathan Parish.
