Crenshaw Fieldhouse dedicated at Alexandria Senior High

The Rapides Parish School Board cut the ribbon on the Crenshaw Fieldhouse at Alexandria Senior High this afternoon.

The fieldhouse was named for Butch Crenshaw, who served as the Trojans’ first head football coach and athletic director from 1969 to 1973. He later served the community on the Rapides Parish School Board and the Alexandria City Council.

Alexandria Mayor Jacques Roy proclaimed the day Butch Crenshaw Day in the city of Alexandria.

ASH Head Football Coach Thomas Bachman said every day matters and that each person has a responsibility to make a difference in the lives of the people around them.

The fieldhouse was made possible by a bond approved by District 62 voters in 2022 and will serve ASH students for generations.

The Rapides Parish School Board thanked the Crenshaw family, elected officials, district leaders and everyone who attended the celebration.
