A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Caroline Dormon Junior High to open a new classroom wing featuring several new classrooms, a music room, a health clinic, new restrooms and an enclosed play space.
The new wing is dedicated to Mayor David Butler and his wife, Linda, for Mayor Butler’s work bringing a school to Woodworth and his continued support of it.
The library is dedicated to Dr. Gary Jones, former superintendent of schools, and his wife, Sarah, a lifelong teacher and reading coach.
The Rapides Parish School Board congratulated the Butler and Jones families and the students who will learn and play in the new space.
The school board also thanked the voters of District 57 who made the expansion possible.
