Despite losing Saturday night, albeit while playing up against an NCAA Division I FCS program at Southern University, the Louisiana Christian University football team hung tough in the latest round of NAIA Top 25 polls on Monday, coming in the top 20 of both.
Louisiana Christian (3-1, 2-0 Sooner Athletic Conference) remained at 17th in the Victory Sports Network NAIA Top 25 Football Media Poll. The Wildcats slipped one spot to No. 20 in the NAIA Coaches Top 25.
The Wildcats are coming off a 50-31 loss at Southern on Saturday night in a game that was 37-24 with 10 minutes remaining. In two games this season against NCAA D1 programs, LCU has a 1-1 record and averaged 36.5 points per game.
Defending SAC co-champion LCU begins a three-game homestand this Saturday as Oklahoma Panhandle State comes to Pineville. Kickoff of Saturday’s contest against the Aggies (2-2, 0-1 SAC) is set for 6 p.m. at Wildcat Field. The contest will be live streamed on 446Sports and through the Urban Edge Network.
