The Rapides Parish Police Jury is urging citizens to use caution when burning outdoors due to dry conditions.

Parish President Craig Smith said the Police Jury has received reports from local fire departments about grass fires resulting from the dry conditions.

Although Rapides Parish is not currently experiencing drought conditions, residents are asked to use caution when burning.

Residents are reminded to plan ahead and follow local weather conditions each day before conducting outdoor burning.
