The new recreational area at Fort Buhlow Recreation Area is still under construction and is not yet open for public use.

The Pineville Police Department said it has seen videos circulating of individuals accessing the new area and was recently contacted regarding locals accessing the property.

While construction is ongoing, the area must remain closed until the project is fully completed and officially opened. The department asked the public for patience and cooperation in staying out of the construction area for everyone’s safety.

The Red River Waterway Commission has invested time, funding and effort into the project.
