Charles Lester Galligan, Sr., 85, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

Charles was a 1959 graduate of Bolton High School, and he attended Northwestern State College in Natchitoches. Charles started his Savings & Loan and banking career at First Federal of Alexandria and was President & CEO of First Federal of Allen Parish in Oakdale. After First Federal of Allen Parish was acquired by First Federal Bank of Louisiana, Lake Charles, in 2004, he retired December 31, 2007. The Louisiana Bankers Association recognized Charles for his forty-seven years of service when he retired in 2007. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Galligan and Adelle Chevalier Galligan; and his wife of sixty-five years, Wanda Johns Galligan.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his children, Leslie Galligan of Oakdale, and Charles “Chuck” Galligan, Jr. (Jennifer) of Harvey; and one granddaughter, Lauren Adelle Galligan of Harvey.

A service to remember Charles’s life will be held at a later date. Rush Funeral Home of Oakdale is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
