For the first time in months all GAEDA commissioner spots are filled.
James Segall, appointed to the District 5 seat at last week’s City Council meeting, completes the seven-member panel.
On the upcoming meeting agenda today are three proposed economic development expenditures:
- $11,500 to the Louisiana Early Childhood Association for meals, advertising and marketing its annual conference November 5-7;
- $5,000 to Yin Hospitality International for meals at the Trust-Based Relational Intervention Conference, September 28-October 2;
- $50,000 through a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with InnerCity Revitalization Corp. for a financial literacy workshop, date not specified.
Segall will presumably get a private briefing on executive sessions held in August to discuss legal demands.
The agenda doesn’t indicate any such items to be discussed today.
Active legal affairs include a ruling involving the executive director’s salary and legal expenses of the plaintiff and payment owed the City of Alexandria through the now-junked CEA regarding Weiss & Goldring building.
