A large structure fire was reported on Sept. 13 in Lecompte on South Grand Auto along U.S. 71 South. Rapides Parish Fire District 18 received assistance from several mutual aid departments during the fire.

Those assisting included Alexandria Fire Department, Echo-Poland Fire Department, Rapides Parish Fire District 12, Rapides Parish Fire District No. 2, Town of Woodworth, Glenmora Fire Department, Rapides Fire District 17, Bunkie Fire Department, Rapides Parish 911/OEP and Pafford Emergency Medical Services.

Rapides Parish Fire District 18 thanked the mutual aid departments for responding and assisting with the fire.
