Former Rapides Parish Sheriff William Earl Hilton was honored during the Ted Johnson Memorial Rodeo.

Hilton, a Hineston native and supporter of the rodeo, was remembered during the event with his riderless horse, “Yeller,” led by his son, Shane Hilton.

Members of Hilton’s family attended the tribute, including his wife, Billie Faye; son Shane Hilton and his wife, Laurie; grandson Slade Hilton; step-grandson Jaxson Fuller; step-daughter Hannah and her husband, Dylan; granddaughter Avah; grandson Wade; and step-daughter Halle and her fiancé, Corbin.

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office thanked the Ted Johnson Rodeo and owner Daleigha Pitt for their kindness and generosity.
