Buddy Cannon was named the Deville Fire Department’s 2026 Firefighter of the Year during Rapides Parish Firefighter Appreciation Day.

Cannon was recognized for his dedication and service to the Deville community.

The department described Cannon as reliable and someone who consistently shows up when needed and goes the extra mile for the people it serves.

His hard work and willingness to help were also recognized for making a difference both on scene and around the department.
