Remembering Aubrey Layne Sanders

September 28, 1961 – August 27, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Layne Sanders, a cherished son, devoted father, and esteemed director in the oil and gas industry. Layne, aged 64, left this earthly existence far too soon on August 27, 2026. Born on September 28, 1961, in Lafayette, Louisiana, he grew up to become an influential figure as the Director of Gas Control for the East Region at Kinder Morgan, where he dedicated many years of his life.

Layne was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his unwavering love for his family. He took immense joy in being a father to his beloved daughter, Leilanie, and his sons, Luke and Liam. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, whether fishing on tranquil waters or engaging in spirited basketball games.

Layne is mourned by his parents, Aubrey and Jacque Sanders, and his brothers, Lynn, Lance, and Lee Sanders. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laurie Sanders, whose memory he held dear.

To honor his remarkable life, funeral services will be held on September 9, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria, Louisiana. The solemn and reverent service will begin at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Reverend Todd Strain and Reverend Gene Ortis. A public viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The burial will follow at Alexandria Memorial Gardens, under the compassionate direction of Hixson Brothers.

Pallbearers include Levy Bryan, Chet Cooper, Clay Cooper, Keith Fuson, Ron Heard, Warren Morris, David Perkins, and Ronnie Schwartz. The honorary pallbearer will be Bill Murray.

As we gather to celebrate the life of Layne Sanders, we invite all to share their memories, their laughter, and their love. Together, we will reflect on a life well-lived, a spirit that touched many, and a legacy that will endure in our hearts.
