It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Eddie Maxine Barton Bynog, who left this world on August 31, 2026, at the age of 82. Eddie Maxine was born on December 17, 1943, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Joy and Silas Barton. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and compassion that deeply touched everyone she encountered.
Eddie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married her sweetheart, W.L. “Bud” Bynog, on December 1, 1961, and together they shared 42 years of marriage, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
Eddie was a devoted mother to her children, Rhonda Harvey and Michael Todd Bynog, and a cherished grandmother to Mark Harvey II (Charlotte), Sydney Cutts (Justin), Dustin Lowery, Brady Bynog, and Victoria Ryder (Lake). She took immense joy in the company of her six great-grandchildren: Laila Cutts, Hallie Cutts, Roc Harvey, Kennedy Harvey, Beckham Ryder, and Hudson Ryder. Eddie’s legacy lives on in each of them, as they carry forward her spirit and love.
A nurturing soul, Eddie dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked as a homemaker and was known for her remarkable 55-year career as an in-home caregiver, where she touched countless children’s lives with her kindness and generosity. Her home was always a haven, open to anyone in need of a comforting presence or a listening ear.
Eddie was a longtime member of Wilda Baptist Church, where she found joy and community. She had a love for fishing, sewing, and cooking, but her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family. Her feisty yet loving personality and unwavering strength were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Eddie is preceded in death by her parents, Joy and Silas Barton; her beloved husband, Bud; and her son-in-law, Mark Harvey. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with them.
Honorably carrying Eddie to her earthly resting place are her grandsons; Justin Cutts, Mark Harvey II, Dustin Lowery, Brady Bynog, and her nephews; Jimmy Hill and Gage Howard.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026 at Wilda Baptist Church with a service to celebrate Eddie’s life at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026. Burial will follow at Hemphill Star Cemetery in Boyce, Louisiana.
