Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to the 5000 block of Benjamin Street in the Grundy Cooper subdivision on Aug. 31 around 3:15 pm in reference to a welfare concern. Sheriff’s detectives said the incident is an active investigation and no further details will be released at this time.

There is currently no indication of a risk to public safety at this point in the investigation.

The sheriff’s office said it will update the release as more information becomes available.
