The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office extends our deepest condolences to the Alexandria Police Department and to the family, friends, and former colleagues of retired Alexandria Police Chief Darren Coutee, who passed away on Aug. 26.

Chief Coutee dedicated many years of his life to law enforcement and public service. We join the law enforcement community in honoring his service and remembering the contributions he made throughout his distinguished career.

Retired Chief Coutee will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Cloutierville following funeral services on Friday, September 4, 2026.

Sheriff Stuart Wright and the men and women of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office offer our thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt sympathy to Chief Coutee’s family, friends, and the Alexandria Police Department during this time of sadness.
