Alexandria Senior High to reopen for all students on September 8

Alexandria Senior High has been cleared to reopen.

Faculty and staff members will begin working in their classrooms next week to prepare for students.

Freshmen will report first, on Friday, September 4, for “Fresh Start” day. This gives our newest students a day to walk through their schedules, meet their teachers, and get comfortable on campus before everyone else returns.

All students will report on Tuesday, September 8.

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) completed its visual inspection of the campus and found no areas of concern. LDEQ also reviewed the results of every clearance sample collected during the cleaning. Based on that inspection and review, LDEQ agrees the building is safe to reoccupy.

Through September 4, students will continue with virtual instruction on the current schedule.

Thank you to our staff, students, and families for your patience and cooperation through this unexpected start to the school year.
