Memorial services for Ms. Cheryl Platt will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at The Mighty Church, Pineville.
Visitation will begin at 10:00AM until time of service.
Cheryl Denise Platt, age 64, of Prospect, LA. passed away on August 19, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and many memories that will be treasured for years to come.
She was born October 26, 1961 at Baptist Hospital of Alexandria to Lester Charles Weeks. She grew up in Ball, LA. until she married her high school sweetheart, David, on August 3, 1979. They settled down in Prospect, LA. where they spent the remainder of their years on the same beloved property.
Cheryl foremost had a strong faith in God. She loved her pastor and church. She was a personable person and a great friend. She never met a stranger. Cheryl was always true to herself and accepted others without judgment. Those lucky enough to know her have felt her warm light. She was a true hippie at heart. She was constantly laughing, joking, and singing; always down for a good time. Some of her favorite things to do were watching scary movies, listening to classic rock, taking care of her plants, and shopping. Cheryl was very proud of her family and loved them unconditionally. Her life has touched and brightened many lives of friends and family and will continue to in memories.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her husband, David Platt; her son, Demarcus Platt; and her father, Lester Weeks.
She is survived by her son, Scotty Platt (Sonya); granddaughters, Myah Platt, Jalyn Platt; her siblings, Melanie Clower, Wesley Weeks, Shelly Weeks; and her brother-in-law, John Platt.
Arrangements were placed in the care of Fall Creek Funeral Home, Pineville.
