Rapides Regional Medical Center’s entry in this year’s Healthy Food for Healthier Tomorrows food drive finished in a tie for third place in its division, earning the Food Bank of Central Louisiana a $3,000 cash donation.
The entry, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit to End Hunger,” featured a Lady Liberty sculpture.
In all, 3,517 pounds of food and cereal were donated to the food bank to help fight hunger in the area.
Last year’s entry, “Hunger is No Day at the Beach,” placed first in the division and second overall in the company.
