The Pineville Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 100 block of Prairie Street. Officers were dispatched to the area on July 30 around 4:10 pm in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located one individual suffering from a single gunshot wound.

The suspect had fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

Police said the incident was not a random act of violence and appears to have stemmed from a domestic dispute.

The Pineville Police Department said the investigation remains active and ongoing and asked the public to avoid speculation while investigators work to gather information.
