Rapides Parish educators were recognized during the Dream Teachers Gala in New Orleans, which honored outstanding educators from across Louisiana.

Sarah Corley of LSU Alexandria was named Early Childhood Leader of the Year, and Michelle Blaney of Buckeye High School was named High School Teacher of the Year.

The Rapides Parish School Board also recognized Christy Dugas, who was named an Elementary Principal of the Year semifinalist.

The school board congratulated the educators on their accomplishments and recognized their commitment to serving students.
