The Pineville Police Department is reminding the public that the former Central State Hospital grounds are off limits and warning that anyone found inside the buildings could face arrest.

According to the department, the buildings are extremely hazardous and entering them poses a serious risk of injury.

Police said several individuals were recently arrested for burglarizing the buildings and cautioned that trespassing on the property is not worth risking personal safety or criminal charges.

The department urged the public to stay out of the former Central State Hospital grounds.
