Mayor Jacques Roy spoke during the 20th anniversary celebration of the Olive House, which is operated by the Inner-City Revitalization Corporation.

The Olive House was created to provide stable, affordable housing for adults who have experienced homelessness and are transitioning from shelters, rehabilitation programs or other supportive environments.

The program primarily serves individuals who have experienced homelessness, are recovering from substance use disorders after at least three months of sobriety, may be living with mental illness or co-occurring conditions, or have completed rehabilitation programs and are ready for more independent living.

Its mission is to help residents achieve long-term stability by combining affordable housing with access to supportive services, allowing them to remain as long as needed while rebuilding their independence.

The City of Alexandria congratulated the Olive House on 20 years of service to the community.
