Several applications are in the already in the hopper as LSU Alexandria’s search for a Chief Financial Officer continues.

Executive Vice Chancellor & CFO Deron Thaxton’s last work day on campus is July 31 with official separation in late August, according to officials.

Next Tuesday, Thaxton will be guest of honor at a celebration/roast at the conclusion of the work day.

Thaxton has been at the university since 2003, holding several positions prior to becoming CFO in 2014.

About this time in 2023 the executive vice chancellor role was added to his responsibilities.

He has witnessed and played a key part in a remarkable surge in the school’s enrollment and footprint in the community.
