RoyOMartin recently held its Career Signing Day, recognizing students across Central Louisiana who are entering the workforce through its WoodWorks and Girls Can Too! programs.
Among those signing job offers were two Pineville High School students, Malakai L. and Dametris B., who were celebrated for their achievement. School officials noted the students are “career ready” and congratulated them on taking the next step into their future careers with RoyOMartin.
In total, 16 students participated in the signing day, including 14 students from across Central Louisiana and two additional students from Corrigan, Texas, who signed earlier this month.
The WoodWorks program, offered in more than 20 high schools across Central Louisiana and East Texas, provides hands-on training in applied mathematics, industrial safety, and employability skills while connecting students with mentors in safety, maintenance, and operations. Students who complete the program earn course credit, receive a certificate of completion, and are guaranteed a job interview with RoyOMartin. Since its launch in 2007, the program has helped approximately 70 graduates secure employment within the company’s operations.
Now in its fourth year, the Girls Can Too! program pairs young women with female mentors at RoyOMartin to introduce career opportunities in industry and leadership, with this year marking the first hires from the program.
Company officials say both programs are designed to strengthen the regional workforce pipeline by connecting students directly from the classroom to career opportunities in Central Louisiana’s manufacturing sector.
