Multi-district support for schools, law enforcement in Rapides on State Bond Commission agenda

Rapides Parish features an extensive list of requests on the State Bond Commission agenda for the meeting on Friday, April 17, 2026. The items cover law enforcement, drainage, and several school districts.

The Rapides Parish School Board has proposed seven separate millage renewals or implementations across the parish, including broad support for the public school system and targeted funding for the Pineville, Poland, and Consolidated School District districts. Notably, Poland School District No. 55 is seeking funding specifically for its Food Preservation Laboratory and related salaries.

  • Law Enforcement: A 9.60 mills tax for 15 years (2030-2044) to continue funding the Sheriff’s Office.

  • Drainage: A 10.0 mills tax for 10 years for Gravity Drainage District No. 2 to acquire and maintain flood prevention works
