Rapides Parish first responders conduct pipeline leak tabletop exercise

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office recently participated in a tabletop exercise focused on pipeline leak mitigation, bringing together multiple agencies to review response procedures and coordination strategies.

Resident Deputies Lt. Jared Salard and Sgt. Billy Fuller joined representatives from Rapides Parish 911/OEP, the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, Deville Volunteer Fire Department, Louisiana State Police HAZMAT, and Sunoco for the training session.

Officials emphasized the importance of preparedness for hazardous incidents and the value of interagency collaboration in ensuring an effective response. Sheriff Mark Wood noted that training of this nature helps all participating agencies understand their roles in mitigating potential emergencies, underscoring the commitment to readiness and public safety.
