PFD partners with Alexandria Emergency Hospital to provide cancer, wellness screenings

The Pineville Fire Department is proud to announce a new partnership with Alexandria Emergency Hospital to provide comprehensive cancer and wellness screenings for its firefighters. This initiative is part of the Louisiana Firefighter’s Cancer Screening Program (Act 554), which aims to ensure early detection and promote long-term health for first responders.

Firefighters face increased health risks due to exposure to hazardous environments. Through this partnership, PFD personnel will receive screenings tailored to their unique needs, including advanced imaging and lab work designed to detect cancer and other health concerns early.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Alexandria Emergency Hospital to prioritize the health of our firefighters,” said Chief Mark Johnson. “Their commitment to early detection and quality care makes a real difference in the lives of our team.”

Screenings will be conducted at Alexandria Emergency Hospital’s facility, with flexible scheduling to accommodate the demanding shifts of fire department personnel.
