The Rapides Regional Medical Center announced that Float Pool nurse Melissa Desselle, BSN, RN, has been named their most recent ICARE Award recipient. The ICARE Award stands for RRMC’s values – Integrity, Compassion, Always, Respect, Excellence – and is the highest honor one of their colleagues can receive.

 

Her nomination noted, “Melissa is a phenomenal nurse who has been part of the Rapides family for 19 years, serving in nearly every area of our facility. Her deep clinical expertise is matched only by the joy, positivity, and sense of teamwork she brings to everyone around her. You can walk into any area of the hospital, and both nurses and physicians will know her—in the very best way. Melissa consistently prioritizes patient safety, keeping it at the forefront of our focus. She is constantly on the move—proactively meeting patient needs, supporting her colleagues, and fostering an environment where excellence thrives.”
