The Pineville Police Department is bringing awareness to a TikTok challenge that is making the rounds. There is a trend encouraging kids to kick in someone’s front door for a few seconds of internet fame.

The Pineville PD would like to make a few things clear: 

• Kicking someone’s door is NOT a prank.
• It’s NOT harmless fun.
• This is a criminal offense and it can turn deadly.

Homeowners have the legal right to protect themselves. If someone hears their door being violently kicked in, they’re not thinking “TikTok challenge.” They’re thinking “home invasion.” Consequently, 

• Someone could get seriously hurt.
• Someone could get arrested.
• Someone could lose their life

This can turn deadly in seconds. No likes. No shares. No “just kidding.” Just real-world consequences.

Pineville PD encourages parents to talk to their children about the real-world dangers of such challenges and encourages teens to think before acting.  This “challenge” could change the lives of everyone involved for all the wrong reasons.
