The Rapides Parish Library (RPL) is teaming up with Healthy Blue to bring back the Annual Back-to-School Supply Giveaway—drive-thru event aimed at helping local families prepare for a successful school year on Wednesday, July 23, 9am to 11am, at the Main Library downtown. 

With the excitement of a new school year on the horizon, families are invited to roll through Main Library’s parking lot to pick up a FREE school supply kit—perfectly packed for elementary and junior high students. A total of 500 kits will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis. But there’s one important rule—kids must be present in the vehicle to receive a kit.

RPL Director Celise Reech-Harper shared, “With many students preparing to embark upon a new school year, your Rapides Parish Library strives to make a difference by offering supplies to facilitate education. Whether used at home or in a classroom, the back-to-school supplies offered in our drive-through event provide a basic need for educational success.”

How the drive-thru works:

• Supplies will be distributed drive-thru style—quick, easy, and fun.
• Vehicles must enter through the exit of the Main Library parking lot by turning left off of Washington Street.
• Follow the clearly marked signs to keep traffic flowing smoothly.
• Don’t forget—the child must be in the car to receive their supply kit.
