Officers with the Alexandria Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 2700 block of Loblolly Lane on Monday, July 14, at approximately 3am.

Upon arrival, officers located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment. One of the victims is reported to be in critical condition.

Preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was related to a suspected narcotics transaction that escalated into violence. The investigation remains ongoing.
