Central Louisiana celebrates Pride Weekend

The Central Louisiana AIDS Support Services (CLASS), Healthy Living for All organization sponsored the 11th annual CENLA Pride Weekend Friday and Saturday, June 13-14. The event kicked off Friday with the third annual Pride Mass at Alexandria’s St. James Episcopal Church.

Saturday saw a crowd of several hundred people participate in the Pride Walk starting downtown and ending at the Randolph Riverfront Center. After the march, attendees enjoyed an expo at the Randolph Riverfront Center with food trucks, an eclectic variety of vendors and entertainment.

CLASS Healthy Living for All primarily serves the area of the Louisiana Department of Health’s Region VI: Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn Parishes. Their website sums up their mission. “Since incorporating in 1987, CLASS has worked tirelessly to ensure that all people have access to the resources and services which will help them to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.”
