The Alexandria Police Department arrested 21-year-old Samaria Redic of Alexandria in connection with the April 12 beating death of 58-year-old Jerry Chesser on Monday, May 12. Redic was charged with one count of manslaughter and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

This is currently an ongoing investigation.
