Pineville Police officer Hunter Rachal apparently woke up on his off day on Friday and chose hero mode—because not only did he respond to a house fire after being notified by a neighbor, but he ran straight into it and pulled an elderly resident to safety before first responders even arrived.

The Pineville Police Department officially confirmed: No injuries. Just pure adrenaline.

After seeing his enthusiasm for running into burning buildings, the Pineville Police Department figured they’d help him embrace his inner firefighter. They teamed up with Pineville Fire Department to ensure he gets the appreciation he deserves with a fun photoshoot and an honorary PFD badge.
