The Rapides Parish School Board has announced that it has crews inspecting facilities to make sure they are safe for students and employees.
They are also consulting with local authorities, and following the guidance of the National Weather Service. At this time, all Rapides Parish Public Schools and offices will be open tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 23.
RPSB teams are working to make sure any plumbing and/or heating issues are addressed. In the event a school cannot open due to weather related issues, this information will be communicated as quickly as possible.
They are currently working to address concerns at L.S. Rugg, Cherokee, and D.F. Huddle Elementary Schools. They will provide further communication as soon as possible if these schools are not able to open.
