Rapides Parish Police Jury President will be familiar face: Craig Smith

Craig Smith

Former Rapides Parish Police Jury president Craig Smith is returning to the role for 2025.

This will be Smith’s sixth term as president as well as his 14th year serving as a juror.

Smith says one of his goals is to create unity within some organizations within the parish’s cities and said that as the parish’s governing body, their doors are always open.

“Transparency is key. Facebook, or social media should I say, is good and also evil, but don’t always believe social media,” he said. “If you got a question, whether it’s taxes or anything that the parish does, feel free to reach out to your juror or come up here. We would be glad to sit down, discuss and show you on paper how we operate.”

Former interim president Sean McGlothlin was elected as vice president for the police jury.
