In response to the parish-wide burn ban, several towns and villages have issued burn bans within their city limits. Glenmora’s fire chief, Cody Cloessner, issued his yesterday, effective immediately. No private burning will be permitted – no burning in burn pits; no burning of leaves, grass, or other debris; and no campfires. The use of barbeque grills for brief recreational purposes is permitted, as long as they are properly extinguished after use. The burn ban is in effect until Chief Cloessner rescinds it. Violation of this ban may result in criminal and/or civil penalties.
The Village of Forest Hill likewise issued a burn ban within city limits. Forest Hill only commented that it related to the very dry weather conditions. The Town of Woodworth issued a similar statement.
