Tonight’s Pineville City Council meeting could set an attendance record. Then again those who rely on social media for discourse could skip it.
Should the former occur, it’s likely Francine will be an afterthought storm.
The meeting is the first since startling revelations regarding admitted liaisons between Mayor Rich Dupree and a former city employee and former Chief of Staff Doug Gann and the same employee.
A source normally reliable says the council initially heard the tale during an executive session at the end of its August 13 meeting.
It became public knowledge when documents regarding an EEOC complaint were published on a Facebook site.
That site has since alleged other things regarding the licentious encounters though no attribution of same has been made.
Those posting on the site fall into two categories – the mayor and any supporting him must go, or judge him by the job he’s doing, disappointed you might be.
The council’s agenda covers a number of building condemnation matters and other fairly routine items before getting to Public Comments, at the meeting’s end, where it always is.
