The Rapides Parish Library is hosting their annual Creative Con Saturday, Aug. 31 from 9 AM- 2 PM at their Westside Branch. 

 

Creative Con is Cenla’s version of a mini Comic Con. That’s short for convention, for those unfamiliar with the concept of geeking out with your favorite cosplay characters and games. 

 

“Creative Con is back! Get dressed up in your favorite geeky outfit or cosplay and come have a great time with us! We’ll have local vendors, fantastic panel discussions, games, a cosplay contest, photo opportunities, a craft, and more!” organizers announced. 

 

One of those vendors is Sage Green of Milksmage who upcycles materials into jewelry and art. Another is Denise Roper who will bring her vintage Marvel and DC comic book collection for display as well as some issues for sale. 

 

Mustafar Temple will be coming from Houston, Texas to help celebrate Star Wars by performing a choreographed lightsaber fight and then teaching attendees how to harness the force! They are scheduled for a panel discussion followed by the children’s choreography show from 11:30 AM-Noon.
