The Shreveport Police Department DARE unit was honored on July 9 before the Shreveport City Council by Mayor Tom Arceneaux. The mayor proclaimed next week as Louisiana DARE Officers Association Week to highlight the upcoming 33rd annual DARE training conference that will be held in Shreveport.
The SPD is proud to announce that Shreveport Police Department’s very own Sergeant Jason Jones serves as the president of the Louisiana DARE Officers Association. The department commends the outstanding work he and the entire Shreveport Police DARE unit are doing.
Next week, the SPD looks forward to welcoming over 200 officers from throughout Louisiana to the city as they learn more effective strategies for teaching youth how to avoid drug and alcohol abuse.
