The Beauregard Watermelon Festival will be held June 27-29 at the Beauregard Parish Fairgrounds, 506 West Drive in DeRidder.
It begins on Thursday with a watermelon crawl and goes through an authentic Louisiana Saturday night. There is a plethora of unique events to participate in including melon voice singing contest, bullfrog races, a pig scrambling contest, watermelon goat roping, tractor parade, and a farmers tan contest! A special “Cutting of the Melons” will be held Friday from 11:30 AM- 1 PM. Christway Church will have a kids game and activity tent set up throughout the festival.
Louisiana native and Season 17 American Idol winner Laine Hardy performs Saturday night at 8 PM.
