Murder Mystery Dinner Theater presents Who’s Getting Kilt?

By JEANNI RITCHIE

The Unusual Suspects presented Who’s Getting Kilt? at Tunk’s Cypress Inn and Oyster Bar Tuesday night.

Written by and starring Cenla’s own Dan Forest, the enigmatic cast also includes Alecia Lewis, Dale dePerrodil, Kimberly Patton, Dann Eudy Jr, and Shelley Jinks Johnson. This murder mystery theatre troupe has been performing in Central Louisiana for years and their combined experience and innate talent leads to a spectacular experience.

The evening begins with a white tablecloth dinner and a choice between two entrees: beef medallions with a Scotch mushroom sauce or salmon with peppercorn cream sauce. Whether attending solo, with a partner, or with a group, you have both the intimacy of your party and the collective feel of the whole group.

Each table holds a pencil and flyer with some backstory and a special dedication to deParrodil’s father who recently passed away.

There’s also a place to submit your theory on who did it, how, and why. I’d solved the last murder mystery dinner I’d been to but it had been five years and my favorite mystery author, Mary Higgins Clark, had died just a few months after I’d received a reply from my email to her crediting her books for my victory.  I hadn’t read any mysteries lately. Would I still be as sharp?

I was, somewhat…I didn’t get the why or how but I got the who! And I won a special pen for guessing correctly! I had a fabulous time, a great meal, and an evening of laughter.

The Unusual Suspects will host a second show on May 28 at 7 p.m.. Order tickets at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dinner-theatre-whos-getting-kilt-tickets-878763414027 or call 318.419.0888 for more information.

It’s an experience you don’t want to miss!
