The “Opening of Court” comes from tradition when courts would be closed during the summer due to the heat and reopen as fall approached.

 

The ceremony also introduced four new lawyers to the bar, as well as honored those who have passed away in the last year and three other special awards.

 

The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office acknowledges all of its deputies assigned to Court Security Section as they perform their duties every day to protect the judges of the 9th Judicial District.
