Alexandria receives Cleanest City Award for District VIII, Category I

The City of Alexandria was awarded the Louisiana Garden Club Federation’s Cleanest City Contest for District VIII Category 1.

This contest started in 1958 and is more than 60 years old. The goal of the contest is to encourage cities around the state to become litter free and make Louisiana a litter-free state. The district level judging was held recently. The state level judging is under way now with a panel of judges visiting the participating cities.
