Pineville assistant principals highlight impact of Rotary support for student clothing closets

Members of the Rotary Club of Pineville recently heard from two local school leaders about how the club’s community efforts are making a difference for students in Pineville.

Assistant principals Emily Swenson of Pineville Elementary School and Jessica Nicholson of Lessie Moore Elementary School visited the club to discuss the impact of funding provided for school clothes closets.

The Rotary Club raises funds for the initiative through its annual golf tournament. Proceeds from the event help support clothes closets at seven elementary schools in Pineville, providing students with access to clothing and other basic necessities.

During their presentation, the administrators shared how the program directly benefits students by helping meet everyday needs that can affect their ability to focus and succeed in the classroom.

Rotary members said hearing firsthand how their efforts support local students reinforces the importance of service projects within the community.

The club also encouraged residents interested in community service and local engagement to attend a meeting and learn more about Rotary and its ongoing efforts to support students and families in Pineville.
