PPD’s ‘Wanted Wednesday’ notice leads to suspect turning himself in

PPD stated that Mr. Whiddon plans to turn himself in.
Pineville Police Department’s weekly “Wanted Wednesday” spotlight highlights individuals who have active arrest warrants that PPD has failed to locate.

Sometimes, these spotlights lead to the wanted individuals turning themselves in, which the PPD encourages them to do.

This week, PPD highlighted William Whiddon. It is alleged that Mr. Whiddon was paid $71,000 to complete repairs on a home. Instead of finishing the job, he decided to call it quits halfway through and has since ghosted the victim. This lead to an arrest warrant being issued  for Mr. Whiddon.

Later yesterday afternoon, after the spotlight went up, Mr. Whiddon called PPD and arranged to turn himself in.

PPD took the opportunity for this spotlight to remind the public to do its research when hiring a contractor and to always have a signed contract in place.
