RPSO SWAT called in for incident

Patrol deputies responded to the 5000 block of LA 28 in Pineville on Nov. 10 at approximately 7pm in reference to a report of an alleged crime that occurred in the 300 block of Circle Drive which intersects LA 28 East. According to the victim, a male subject pointed a firearm at them, attempted to take their vehicle and struck them with the firearm in the face multiple times. Acadian Ambulance also responded to render medical aid to the victim.
 
After being given the description, deputies were able to identify the suspect as Kenneth Charles Evans, 38 of Pineville. Deputies attempted to make contact with Evans at a residence in the 5300 block of LA 28 East, but Evans and the other subjects in the residence would not come out. Due to Evans allegedly being armed, RPSO SWAT responded to the scene to attempt to negotiate. Sheriff’s detectives from the Tioga Substation also responded to conduct their investigation.
 
Detectives developed sufficient probable cause and obtained a search warrant and arrest warrant for Evans. RPSO SWAT Team attempted to negotiate with the suspects to come out of the residence for close to an hour before they executed the search warrant. Evans was not located inside the residence but and three other suspects identified as Jon Griffin, 37 of Channelview, TX, Jason Michael Foy, 46 of Pineville, and Matthew Wesley Johnson, 43 of Pineville were also taken into custody on various charges.
 
Evans was located on Nov. 11 and taken into custody without incident. He is facing charges of:
  • Carjacking
  • Aggravated Assault with a firearm
  • Aggravated Battery
  • Illegal Possession of Stolen Things
  • Criminal Damage to Property
Griffin and Johnson both face charges of Resisting an Officer, with Johnson also facing 3 charges of Contempt of Court. Foy faces charges of Failure to Appear and Probation Violation.
 
Evans is being held on a $140,000.00 bond. Griffin was released on a $500.00 bond. Foy is being held on a $500,000.00 bond. Johnson was released on a $5000.00 bond.
 
Sheriff’s detectives say their investigation is still ongoing and more arrest are possible.
