
Pineville High School hosted its inaugural Black History Month Program on Feb. 28, hosted by senior class president Zoria Sapp and sophomore Aaron Coggins. The keynote speaker was the motivational Dwayne Dupar, The Difference Maker. The program featured performances by the PHS Chamber Choir, the Red Hot Dixie Dancers, an original spoken word by Mrs. Coggins, and a solo by junior Shyanna Celestine.
The school also presented retired PHS teacher and administrator Mrs. Sylvia Davis with the inaugural Sylvia Yancy Davis Black Excellence Award, given for significant contributions to Pineville High School and its community.
